Memories and living (2024-25)
Daniely’s pulp paintings reflect memories of Israel's nature. These works encapsulate the experiences that shaped him personally and artistically, offering a glimpse into the landscapes that have influenced his journey. The paintings serve as a bridge, linking his past to his present, and invite viewers to explore the same complex relationship he has with his experiences. Each piece is not just a representation but an emotional narrative that continues over time.
In his pulp paintings, He starts with Japanese KOZO fibers that are carefully dyed to achieve rich, organic hues, using dyes that echo the tones of his surroundings. The pulp is then hand-formed, with layers of texture adding depth to the final piece, making each artwork a unique tactile experience. The process requires patience and attention to detail, as the fiber’s texture plays a crucial role in how the painting will evolve. Working on a scale that matches the size of his body, he creates an intimate connection with his work, allowing the act of creation to be a physical experience. This scale enhances the viewer’s immersion, making the work deeply personal.
